How do I get started?+

The extension is an early preview you can install in desktop Chrome. Download and unzip it, open Chrome’s extensions page, turn on Developer mode, and choose Load unpacked. Then open a YouTube video and click Sprints.

Does it work with every video?+

Free and Lifetime read captions that YouTube makes available to you, including creator and auto-generated captions. Pro also includes managed transcription for videos without captions, subject to usage limits.

Do I need an account or an AI subscription?+

Free transcript tools need no account or subscription. For external AI conversations, use your own ChatGPT or Claude account. Pro and Lifetime require an account for paid features and the Summary Library; Lifetime also uses your own AI API key.

What happens when I send a video to AI?+

After you choose ChatGPT or Claude, Sprints opens a new conversation with a prepared prompt and the cleaned transcript. You can edit it before sending. Sprints never presses Send for you.

Where does my transcript go?+

The Free extension has no Sprints backend, analytics, or cloud transcript storage. When you choose an AI destination, the transcript is handed to that provider’s composer. Anything you submit there is handled under that provider’s policies. Pro and Lifetime include a signed-in cloud Summary Library.
